You will need to have some basic IT skills such as how to turn a computer on and off and you will also need to be able to read and understand basic written and spoken English.
You will learn how to use devices and handle information, create and edit documents, communicate using your device, investigate the skills needed to buy online and how to be safe and responsible online.
Through a blended learning approach including classroom learning and digital learning from home (for those with devices at home).
Please bring paper and a pen to make notes. You not need to have a device at home but this may help. All other learning materials are provided.
You will be assessed and be able to keep track of your progress through tutor observations and practical tasks in the class. Progress will be monitored and reviewed using an Individual Learning Plan and there will be an online exam at the end of the course.
At the end of this course you will have the opportunity to discuss next steps with your tutor. You may wish to progress onto Essential Digital Skills for Work
